At ChargeGrade.com, our mission is to provide the most objective, data-driven power bank reviews on the internet. We believe in transparency—not just in our voltage ripple tests, but in how this website is funded.
To keep our lab running, buy new testing equipment, and purchase the power banks we review, ChargeGrade participates in various affiliate marketing programs.
1. How We Are Funded
ChargeGrade is reader-supported. When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. This comes at no extra cost to you.
The price of the product is the same whether you use our link or not. The commission is paid entirely by the retailer as a “thank you” for the referral.
2. The Amazon Associates Disclosure
ChargeGrade.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
- This applies to Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon Germany (DE), Amazon Canada, and other Amazon regional storefronts.
- If you click a link to Amazon on our site, a tracking cookie is placed on your browser to identify the referral. This cookie typically lasts for 24 hours.
3. Other Affiliate Programs
In addition to Amazon, we may participate in other affiliate programs relevant to our region and audience, including but not limited to:
- Shopee (Singapore/Southeast Asia)
- Lazada
- AliExpress
These programs operate similarly to Amazon: if you click a link and buy a product, we may receive a small percentage of the sale.
4. Our “Lab Independence” Pledge
Trust is our most valuable asset. To maintain our integrity, we adhere to a strict Code of Ethics:
- We Buy Our Own Units: The vast majority of power banks listed on our Tier Lists are purchased by us at retail price. This ensures we get the same unit you get, not a “Golden Sample” sent by a manufacturer.
- Data Dictates the Grade: Our “ChargeGrade” scores are calculated using a mathematical formula based on efficiency, thermal performance, and electrical stability. No manufacturer can pay us to change a grade.
- No Sponsored Reviews: We do not accept money in exchange for a positive review. If a product overheats or fails our ripple test, we will publish those results regardless of our relationship with the brand.
- Free Samples: Occasionally, a manufacturer may send us a unit for testing. We accept these under one strict condition: It does not guarantee a positive review. We disclose if a unit was provided by the manufacturer in the specific review post.
5. Why We Use Affiliates
Running a hardware testing lab is expensive. We use industrial-grade equipment (DC Electronic Loads, Protocol Analyzers, Thermal Probes) and spend hundreds of hours testing.
Using affiliate links allows us to monetize our hard work without:
- Flooding the site with annoying popup ads.
- Putting our data behind a paywall.
- Selling out to sponsors.
By using our links, you are directly supporting the purchase of the next batch of power banks for testing.
6. Questions?
If you have any questions regarding this disclosure or our testing practices, please feel free to contact us.
